We love creating a new signature drink menu every season for you. There is a lot of hard work and preparation going on behind the scenes to come up with new and noteworthy drinks each season. But it is so worth it when you hear a customer say "this is my new favorite drink!" To that we say we could not be more stoked to share with you our summer menu.
Autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools considerably. We follow this change by transitioning from our summer signature drinks to our fall signature drinks. Take a peep below and find yourself a new favorite or an old friend to keep you warm as the days become cooler.
SPICED PUMPKIN LATTE: This spice forward latte is the closest thing you will get to autumn in a cup. We use cinnamon, allspice, clove, nutmeg and ginger to add some nice warmth and depth of flavor. For the pumpkin portion we use a pumpkin puree to bring out an authentic rich pumpkin flavor.
GOLDEN LATTE: We use our turmeric ginger chai and mix it with milk, honey, cinnamon and espresso. Creating a spicy and zesty botanical elixir highlighting the wonders of the golden turmeric root.
THE CAPTAIN SAGE: We made a maple sage snicker-doodle syrup to pair with a cortado. We feel this syrup perfectly balances out the equal portions of espresso and milk in this drink with a rounded sweetness. Also available as a cappuccino or latte!
CHAGA CHAI: Is a remarkable brew that blends wild chaga mushrooms with roasted dandelion root, chicory, and adaptogenic astragalus root. A touch of cocoa nibs and a hint of sweetness bring this grounding yet decadent treat to life.
CHAIDER: Our masala chai is an energizing and rich blend of fresh spices and wild black tea. We find it the perfect partner to pair with apple cider adding a different dimension to a fall favorite. If you like chai or apple cider this is a must try!

In celebration of 100 years serving this great community, we hosted a latte art throwdown this past Saturday at our location in Rockford. Barista connoisseurs alongside beginners competed for some spectacular prizes; we couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate 100 fantastic years than spending time with those who helped us get to where we are today and hosting the throwdown of the century!
The shop was packed full of people ready to party. Everyone was eager to cheer on the baristas and see some fantastic latte art. In total, fourteen people eagerly entered the completion. We saw talented baristas from local coffee shops like Madcap, Ferris, Lyon Street Cafe, Stovetop Coffee Roasters, and our own baristas from Sweetland. Among the fourteen competitors were seasoned baristas, people who hadn’t tried their hand at latte art in years, and one person who practiced his craft at home on his own espresso machine. The competition was fierce and everyone brought their A-game.
The latte art throwdown had a total of six rounds and kicked off with Round 1: Tulip art in a latte. As the competition continued, the art got more sophisticated and more difficult. The judges had a hard time deciding because all the art was so well done. Halfway through, we changed it up and challenged baristas to do their best art with their non-dominant hand! The final round required extreme skill and concentration: Swan latte art.
After lots of hard work, laughter, and tough competition we crowned our first, second, and third place winners; in first place Colin Russell; a Madcap barista, in second place, Ben Martin, also from Madcap, and in third place our very own Mikayla Scogg from Sweetland’s Rockford Location.
We are so thankful to all the people that participated in our first latte art throwdown; you all did amazing! It was such a great way to celebrate 100 wonderful years of business. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch; Sweetland had such an excellent time celebrating with our community! We love serving quality chocolates and coffee, but most of all, we love the people we serve. Thank you to each one of our community members who have supported us at some point in the past 100 years; cheers to 100 more!
If you were at the event, tag us in your photos @sweetlandcandies on instagram; we would love to see them.

We are so excited to share with you that we now have nitro cold brew, kombucha, and carbonated water on tap at our Rockford Cafe!
We are serving our very own nitro cold brew that we make using our Nineteen Nineteen Blend. You might be thinking what is the difference between cold brew and nitro cold brew? The only difference is that we infuse the cold brew with nitrogen and pull it from a tap just like beer is commonly served. We love what nitrogen adds to our cold brew- a nice velvety and creamy texture.
For our kombucha we are serving Lively Up and the flavor is currently Lovin’ Lavender! Lovin' Lavender is a crisp, sharp, yet light lavender kombucha made to resemble floral essences and aroma. We hand blend this brew using the highest quality lavender, rose petals and hibiscus flowers in an effort to support calmness and peace within.
We will be using the carbonated water we now have on tap to serve with our espresso based drinks as a palate cleanser. It will also be available to purchase by the glass because if your anything like me I love carbonated water!

There is nothing more exciting as a kid than Easter morning. All the anticipation and buildup of an Easter egg hunt was almost unbearable. Whether the hunt for the eggs was inside or outside (which is a tossup here in Michigan) you just could not wait to spot that first egg!
Here at Sweetland's we have all the Easter goodies to keep those traditions going strong. Even if it's not an Easter hunt that brings you excitement anymore. Maybe it's the chocolate bunny your parent get's you every year even though you're well past that age.
We love Easter, the traditions, the stories we hear from customers and knowing we are done with Winter FINALLY.
SPRING IS HERE! You don't believe us? Well then try this honey lavender latte and fall head over heels for spring. This latte perfectly balances honey and lavender from our house made syrup with espresso and milk.
